What to see in Brindisi

Salento’s culinary tradition
A holiday in Brindisi also means discovering new flavors and tastes. When travelling to Salento, guests cannot say no to a number of recipes. Among the main courses, we recommend orecchiette and minchiareddi, a type of homemade pasta which may be dressed with any sauce: tomato, pesto or ricotta. Even ciceri e tria is a traditional and tasteful dish: it is a poor dish made of chick peas and a dough made from salt, water and flour. Another must-try is frise, salty and holeless donuts as well as fave nette accompanied by wild chicory, a poor dish deriving from farming culture. Any other worth-tasting dish? Among the second courses we recommend scapece, turcinieddhi and municeddhi… day after day you will be spoilt for choice!

Bike and nature
There are countless itineraries guests can explore to visit Brindisi and its surroundings by bike. They vary in length, difficulty and according to road type.
Among the best-known cycling paths are the ring that connects Alberobello to Torre Canne and Cisternino passing through Monopoli: a 81-kilometer paved road with an approximately 400-metre altitude difference.
Another beautiful path stretching for about 63 km, is the one that connects Martina Franca to Ostuni passing through San Vito dei Normanni, whereas those seeking motorbike paths may enjoy the trails starting from Brindisi and unfurling towards its surroundings with varying levels of difficulty and lengths. This means you will have a chance to choose the trail that best suits your preparation level.
